Diana Vickers Little Voice
Diana is the 18-year-old from Lancashire with a voice that captivated the nation, first coming to the country’s attention in August 2008 as millions of viewers tuned into X Factor. She quickly became one of the stars of the show, a talking point everywhere from factory floors in Glasgow to basement bars in Dalston, and finished fourth. The fashionistas loved her style and the music critics loved her uniqueness.
Instead of following the usual route of rushing out an album to cash in on the show, Diana quietly signed a deal with RCA Records. She relocated to London and started to write songs and find the right collaborators, including musicians Nerina Pallot and Lightspeed Champion, and producer Guy Sigsworth, who has worked with Björk and Madonna. Her new songs include mid-tempo number ‘Jumping Into Rivers’, the pretty rhythms and summery glockenspiel melody providing the perfect background for Diana’s beautiful voice to shine. Diana’s first single is expected in early 2010, followed by an album in the spring.
